Members of the GFWC Golden Strip Club, staining birdhouses

Depending on the availability of funds, we often provide financial support to local worthwhile organizations. Our club received a grant from the Progress Foundation, allowing us to award $2,160 to the Center for Community Services to support scholarships for their ESL classes.

Many of our projects would be classified as “hands-on” projects. Examples include helping clean up and organize the Safe Harbor warehouse, making Valentine cards for the senior citizens at Harmony at Five Forks, or painting birdhouses for Jones Mill Trails. We often hold collection drives for food or supplies to help meet the needs of other community non-profit organizations.
